Being in this World but not of it is written in the Bible in Romans 12:2
which references the ability to transform through the renewing of the
mind. Is it possible to be in this World and NOT be a part of it?
Competition has been taught and as a learned process many believe competition to be a natural part of human nature. This is far from the Truth. Wiki describes competition as the opposite of cooperation. Romans 12:2
goes on to state that, “It arises whenever at least two parties strive
for a goal which cannot be shared or which is desired individually but
not in sharing and cooperation. Competition occurs naturally between living organisms which co-exist in the same environment.[3] For example, animals compete over water supplies, food, mates, and other biological resources. Humans compete usually for food and mates, though when these needs are met deep rivalries often arise over the pursuit of wealth, prestige, and fame.”
Say it ain’t so…can we all get along?
Unfortunately a competitive mindset has the ability to misuse valuable energy that can be put to good use as Divine expression. Why fill the thought process with anything other than the power of positive mind action? Reject the thought of being anything less than perfect- exactly as you are and where you are! You were created in the image of greatness. To believe in lack and or limitation would be to go against the infamous expression "what the mind can conceive it will achieve". Why swim upstream like a salmon to spawn then complete the salmon cycle? We are human not fish...
Fear not
Thoughts of fear concerning any type of competition are simply that. ...fearful thoughts. Thoughts are things and things can be changed. If there is truly only one of us, what is there to afraid of?
Success breeds more success. All thoughts impress an imprint on the universe and it is our responsibility to think good thoughts. Never let thoughts of the competition exceed your personal desire to succeed.
Intelligence
Since humans are born with intelligence it would seem appropriate to honor the needs of each other in the spirit of cooperation as contrast to competition. As the basic needs are met it would stand to reason that cooperation would make this a much better world. While there are indeed many benefits to competition, it can and has created some hostile environments built on a lack of trust. If you have ever been step on, over looked or discriminated against you understand how the competitive road to wealth, prestige and fame has left many wounded souls it its trail of destruction.
Collective cooperation
The original thought, is it possible to be in this competitive world, and not get caught up in the drama? Metaphysically the word world is defined by Charles Fillmore as, “A state of consciousness formed through the belief in the reality of things external. It leads one to follow standards of living based on man’s opinions rather than on Truth. The world is overcome by our denying that is has any power over us and affirming freedom in Christ.”
If the preceding statement is true then the only competition is held in mind. This would then make the concept of competition for wealth, prestige and or fame, a sin, which is metaphysically defined as error thinking. There is enough to go around and the true definition of wealth has little to do with actual money. Perhaps you are the millionaire next door and recognize that it is possible to attain and maintain wealth and prestige without intentionally harming a people. Wealth is a state of mind and if you ever observe the ants on the ant hill you can see the operation of wealth and cooperation at its finest.
Abundance
Wealth like everything else begins with a thought, an idea. If you think you are wealthy then so it is. It is easy to be trapped in the external, material intellectual world when true wealth is health, happiness and peace of mind. We are one and true wealth does not make anyone else poor. True wealth is humble yet significant. True wealth honors life. True wealth expresses as love and is the very love we all seek.
Philippians 2:3-4 teaches us, Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Charles Fillmore further described the end of the world as the final consummation of the regenerative process. In the Bible the end of worldliness comes as a thief in the night in silence. Meditation and contemplation in the silence will bring forth a state of wealth consciousness. Fillmore defines wealth metaphysically as the consciousness of God as man’s supply. Spiritual wealth expresses itself as faith, love, wisdom, substance, joy and so on.
Worldly wealth exists in a place of peace that surpasses all understanding.
Denial
I erase any thoughts of lack and or limitation in my life. I let go of any fears.
Affirmation
In the silence, I expand my awareness, raising my consciousness of spiritual wealth, trusting and calling forth abundance and prosperity in each and every area of my life.
And so it is
